Candle Magic
Candles are a very important part of magic. By themselves they can be used as easy spells for almost anything. To do a spell, more important than what you use or do is the energy and visualization you put into it. Candles therefore can be used by themselves to do many things. All it takes is simply putting the right type of energy into the candle you are using.
It is important to remember that the colour of the candle you use is also significant. There is also a basic rule you should remember. For spells involving reversing or removing, wait until the Waning Moon. For spells involving increasing or obtaining something, wait until the Waxing Moon to perform them.
Although not necessary, a simple chant can be used to help concentrate on the goal you are wishing to achieve. It does not have to be complex. Even two lines can be enough. There are also herbs, oils, etc which can be used to aid in your spell. More information on how to use these can be found at one of the page links at the very end.
This is a simple spell which can be used in candle magic. It is definately not the only one out there, and altering it in any way to suit the way you do things or the way you feel is right would probably be a good idea.
Choose the color of candle that best represents your goal. (Colors are listed at the end of this page.) Then, with your ritual knife, carve your wish or a symbol that represents your wish into the candle. Take the candle into your hands and holding it in front of you, focus only on your goal. Visualize every aspect of it and feel it actually happening to you. Let the candle fill with the energy of this wish. Feel it almost flow into the candle itself. It is during this time that you can say a simple chant to help you focus. When you are done, light the candle for at least seven minutes. If you are going to let the candle burn out completely, place it in a spot where it will be safe. If not, you can simply say
"Though in this world your flame is gone,
In spirit world let its light burn on."
and then extinguish it.
Your spell is now finished.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you use a candle for a specific spell, it is not a good idea to reuse that candle for something else for it has now been filled with a specific type of energy. This also means that you shouldn't use candles that have been burned before, even for other purposes besides magic. They have still been fill with other energy which can get in the way of your spell.
